France – 27/07/2021 – energiesdelamer.eu. Atlantique Offshore Energy has extended its gam of services from design and construction of electrical substations to long-term maintenance of such electrical substations. Chantiers de l’Atlantique will ensure preventive maintenance of the three electrical substations of the offshore wind farms of Saint-Nazaire, Fécamp and Calvados (Courseulles-sur-Mer)
Atlantique Offshore Energy, the Marine Energy Business Unit directed by par Frédéric Grizaud of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, directed by par Laurent Castaing, has just signed a contract with the Calvados offshore wind farm project company (EDF Renouvelables – Enbridge – wpd) for the preventive maintenance of the electrical substation of the future wind farm. This contract is in addition to those previously signed for the electrical substations of the Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique) and Fécamp (Seine Maritime) wind farms. The three substations, with a capacity of 450 to 500 MW, are currently under construction at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique site and will be delivered this year for the one in Saint-Nazaire, in 2022 for the one in Fécamp and in 2023 for the one of Calvados.
These long-term maintenance contracts (five years) are a first for Atlantique Offshore Energy, which will manage the entire service by relying on its own dedicated teams as well as on the expertise of its partners.
This new activity logically complements the recognized know-how of the Chantiers de l’Atlantique Business Unit dedicated to the design, construction and installation of offshore electrical substations.
« This contract is really good news for our teams, and it will help strengthen the entire French offshore wind industry, which operates in very competitive markets, » said Frédéric Grizaud, Director of Atlantique Offshore Energy. “After our first successes in various European countries, we are proud to add complementary expertise which adds to our know-how and strengthens our visibility, while we have strong ambitions for future projects in France and around the world « .
