Today, the home industry is flourishing, and developers from all over Europe are putting their technology in Scottish waters.’ Scottish Minister for Energy, Connectivity and the IslandsPaul Wheelhouse, will deliver a keynote address at OEE2020 on Tuesday 2 December at 12:00 CET and participate in a spotlight interview on Friday 4 December at 10:30 CET.

Scotland plays host to the world’s leading wave and tidal test centre, the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) in Orkney; the world’s first commercial scale and largest tidal stream array; the world’s first community tidal stream array and the world’s most powerful tidal stream turbine.

The Wave Energy Normandy programme. Hervé Morin – President of Normandy and Hubert Dejean de La Batie, Vice-President. Normandy Prefecture approves transfer of 12MW tidal power development lease from Engie to Normandie Hydroliennes.

SIMEC Atlantis Energy Limited (“Atlantis”) is pleased to announce that the Prefecture de la Manche has approved the transfer of the lease to develop a 12MW tidal power project in Raz Blanchard from ENGIE to Normandie Hydroliennes. Normandie Hydroliennes is the marine energy development company set up between Atlantis, the Development Agency for Normandy (AD Normandie), the regional agency for economic development in Normandy, the regional investment fund Normandie Participations and local industrial group EFINOR,  which provides high end engineering services and manufacturing support for the naval, nuclear, and aerospace industries.

OEE2020 Day 4 Spotlight Interview
Friday 4 December, 10:30 CET  – Basque Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and the EnvironmentArantxa Tapia will join Scottish Energy Minister Paul Wheelhouse to exchange on their territories’ ocean energy experiences.

They’ll discuss the technology’s potential and challenges, and will explore how people, companies and governments across the continent can work together to deliver an ocean energy-powered Europe.
