UK – France. Jeudi 13/07/2017. EDF Energy Renewables is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of a development portfolio of around 600MW from Partnerships for Renewables (PfR). Approximately 100MW of capacity is already consented with the balance progressing through development.
The majority of the projects are on land managed by Forest Enterprise Scotland.
Matthieu Hue, CEO of EDF Energy Renewables said “We are very pleased to be adding the Partnerships for Renewablesprojects to our portfolio.
We have a well-established and on-going strategy to grow our business either by developing our own sites or through acquiring high calibre projects. This deal underlines our ambitions to develop our business and to expand our stable of new renewables projects.
We are particularly committed to continuing the growth of our renewables business in Scotland and have recently opened a new office in Edinburgh to support our plans”.
PfR CEO, Simon Vince, highlighted that EDF Energy Renewables’ acquisition of the 600MW portfolio shows the strength and attractiveness of PfR’s development and pre-construction sites as the projects will not benefit from any current subsidies.
Neil Copeman, PfR’s Senior Commercial Manager, added that PfR is delighted that EDF Energy Renewables will continue to work with the Forestry Commission Scotland to optimise the deployment of renewable energy projects on the National Forest Estate.
