Wello oy WEC2 est à l’EMEC à Orkney, en Écosse, où il sera déployé aux côtés du WEC déjà en place.

Financé par le programme de recherche et d’innovation Horizon 2020 de l’Union européenne, le projet CEFOW vise à construire et à déployer un réseau de trois Wello sur le site d’essais de vagues connecté au réseau d’EMEC à Billia Croo, sur la côte ouest des Orcades.

Numerical Modelling Engineer

We are looking for a Numerical Modelling Engineer for our Espoo based office in Finland. In this position, you will be responsible for modelling and simulation of Wello’s wave energy converter as well as development of the technology. Working closely in a team with other experts, building on their knowledge for solving problems which you are tasked with.

 

 

 

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Hydrodynamic modelling of the wave energy converter.
  • Simulating of device using NEMOH or other BEM software packages.
  • Verification of numerical models to data collected at experimental scale model testing.
  • Analyse and make independent recommendations regarding the development of the technology with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

We require:

  • AMK, B.Sc. M.Sc. in Marine Energy background.
  • 2 + years’ employment experience in hydrodynamic modelling/simulation of Marine technologies.
  • Broad background in data analysis and wave or tidal energy device and array modelling.
  • Fluency in NEMOH, WAMIT or other modelling software packages is required.
  • Fluency in English with excellent, documented writing skills including the development of journal articles, and technical reports.
  • Good knowledge of programming languages, MATLAB/SIMULINK, C++, Python seen as a benefit.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team across disciplines towards a common goal.
