OCEANS conference is jointly sponsored by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society (IEEE/OES) and the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and is one of the most influential international conference in this field, where you can discover all the new technologies and dedicated research linked to the comprehension of oceans. OCEANS 2019 Marseille will be a fantastic place for information sharing and networking, with an Exhibition, several tutorials on special interest topics, hundreds of technical presentations and a student poster program.

 

About Oceans

OCEANS is the bi-annual event for global marine technologists, engineers, students, government officials, lawyers, and advocates. These industry thought leaders gather for four days to highlight relevant topics and current trends, while creating a community of learners and influencers who consistently advance research, practices, and policies for the marine field.

 

The Marine Technology Society and the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society partner to present OCEANS

KEY DATES:

  • Abstract Submission Opening : 8 November 2018
  • Deadline for abstract submission : 15 January 2019
  • Opening of registration and hotel booking: 15 January 2019
  • Authors notification : 1 March 2019
  • Student Poster notification: 11 March 2019
  • Full paper due : 15 April 2019
  • Deadline for early bird registration : 1 May 2019
  • Oceans 2019 Marseille opening : 17 June 2019

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES:

  • Regular Technical Program : if the submitted abstract is chosen, authors will then be required to submit a full paper they will present as part of the technical progam (in a technical session). Following the conference, the paper will be published in IEEE Xplore. Submit your abstract now
  • Student Poster Competition(*): if the submitted abstract is chosen, students will then submit a full paper and poster which they will present during the student poster section of the Exhibition Hall. Following the conference, the paper will then be published in IEEE Xplore.
    (*) This competition is open to any full-time student in an accredited program. Students must be listed as the lead and corresponding author. Selected applicants, based on abstracts reviews, will have travel and registration expenses subsidized.
  • General Student Poster Session: Abstracts submitted to the General Student Poster Session must be completed by a student. The student must be listed as the lead and corresponding author. General Student Poster Session abstracts may cover a wide range of topics outlined by the Technical Session topics. The abstracts could present early stage experiments/designs and/or data, education or outreach efforts to name a few examples. As the General Student Poster Session category does not require a full paper, a robust data set is not expected, however to set context and purpose some data will be expected in the results portion of the poster. The registration fee for posters to be presented during the General Student Poster Session will be discounted.
